......My Magical Egypt Adventure There were so many things I loved about Egypt, so many things I will miss...Some of my favorite things:
The smell of the jasmine flowers we wore around our necks... such a sweet smell.. The delicious Egyptian food, the falafel, the sweets... The beautiful temples, so many beautiful temples and tombs... The hieroglyphs on the walls are so incredible, so ancient...It's amazing all the color that is still there after all those years... I felt privileged to see them.. The Philae (Isis) temple was my favorite... Such a beautiful sacred place.
I've never had such a moving experience in my whole life... The goddess speaks to you there...
Such a magical, mystical temple... I believe the goddess Isis still exists there...
Cruising the Nile on the felucca... The warm breeze blowing in my face... The sacred waters of the Nile cleansing my soul...
The camel ride by the pyramids, it was so much fun. I had wanted to do that for so long...
The friendly Egyptians, always willing to help... Our guides were the BEST!
The cruise.... my only wish is that it was a little longer, it was so wonderful. The people were so nice...
Sitting on the upper deck of the cruise ship at night watching the sunset. It was the most beautiful sunset I think I've ever seen. So glad I got photos of it... Bellydancing on the ship at night. Thank you for encouraging me to come and dance and have fun. I can be very shy about my dancing when I'm not with my troupe. I worry that I'm not a good enough dancer sometimes when I'm around others. Everyone made me feel very comfortable, and I just had a great time. This time I just felt like I was dancing for the goddess, and nothing else mattered... The Bellydance show with Dina..she has so much feeling in her dancing... Bellydancing with the Nubian musicians...it was so great...
All the shopping in the bazaars everywhere...it was fun haggling with all the shop owners... such good prices on everything. So much to buy... just wish I would have had a little more time at the bazaar in Luxor. It was a nice place. Still would like one of those baskets a lot of the girls got...
The visits to the rug, papyrus, alabaster, perfume stores. So glad I bought things from each one. Wonderful items. Amazing workmanship. So much fun to see how it's all made...
The horse and carriage ride to the temple. That was a lot of fun to have our photo taken on it... The mosque and all the churches are so beautiful, so old...
The light and sound show at the pyramid was incredible, beautiful...
Dipping our toes in the Mediterranean, in Alexandria. So warm .. and the little kids there were the best... still would like a photo of that if anyone has one...
I love the slower pace of life that the Egyptians have. I want to remember that when my daily life gets too crazy. Insha'Allah.
I felt so comfortable in Egypt...Almost like I had been there before... We saw so much in such a short amount of time...
We explored it all...It was great!
I feel like I could spend months there if my family was with me. I wish they could have seen it all with me...But I took lots of photos so they can see it all through my eyes...
Maja, thank you for taking me on such an incredible adventure. This was an experience of a lifetime for me. ... this was the best, most wonderful vacations I have ever had!
Thank you very much for being such a loving and caring person. For taking care of all of us, even though this was your vacation as well. I felt like one of your girls...
Saphira (Cindy Lee) **********************************************************************
It was a combination of all the places, smells, heat, food, relaxation, letting go, letting be whatever it was and just having a great time. I believe that all of us were open and received the great energy that was flowing around us.....MONICA
